Summer’s finally arrived! Hopefully, you’ve been eating lots of pork rinds and you’re ready for shorts, tank tops and flip-flops. I have great news! The 20th Annual Pork Rind Heritage Festival in Harrod, Ohio is just weeks away.

In addition to freshly popped pork rinds, we’ve partnered with Major League Eating (MLE) to host our first ever Pork Rind Eating Competition–oh my! You might have seen other MLE competitions on television. My sons just love that "Nathan’s hot dog eating competition! Be sure to check out all of the festivities Rudolph’s has planned.

Can’t make the festival? No worries, our July Kitchen Club newsletter will feature photos of the contest in full swing. Hope you can come!

Last month, blue collar comedian Larry the Cable Guy stopped by and invited the Rudolph’s gang to watch his show. Turns out, Larry just loves pork rinds—but who can blame him? And recently, President of The Ohio State University, Dr. E. Gordon Gee visited our plant for a tour. Dr. Gee is famous for his bow ties, so we presented him with a Rudolph’s-themed one for his collection.

Oh yes, and if you’d like to know who else is planning a visit, join me in my new fangled communication on Facebook and Twitter.

I’m planning a huge summer picnic for my family and I really want to surprise them with a new dish. My family loves pork rinds. I’m looking for something that they’ve never tried before and if possible, I’d like it to be healthy. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Dee,
You’ve come to the right place! All of my recipes are unique and pork rinds are surprisingly nutritious. Since your family already loves pork rinds, treat them to one of our new flavors. Have you tried our new Sweet Barbeque flavor of our Southern Recipe pork rinds?

Now for a dish, let’s see. You could make my new Churro Krispie Treats—you can use pork rinds for an added kick!

Oh, and one more great recipe, treat your family to my Cracklin’ Corn Bread! It’s perfect for summer picnics. I like to serve it with apple butter or jam. Enjoy your picnic!

Have you ever wondered how Father’s Day came to be? Well, in 1924 President Calvin Coolidge proclaimed the third Sunday in June as Father's Day. Father’s Day has become a day to honor not only fathers, but stepfathers, uncles, and grandfather’s too.

Treat your father this year with some pork rinds. Even better, have you heard about our new ExploreManCave.com and Man-zine newsletter? Visit this fun "manly" site today ... and don't forget to sign your dad up, he’ll love it!
